Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has unveiled its first electric vehicle-compatible tire, the RangeMax RSD EV, which is designed to work with both electric and gas- or diesel-powered regional work vehicles. The tire boasts ultra-low rolling resistance and improved energy efficiency, catering to fleets with various drivetrains.
The RangeMax RSD EV is Goodyear’s most energy-efficient regional drive tire and is equipped to handle the higher load capacities of electric vehicles. It has been engineered to offer lower rolling resistance than comparable competitor tires, ensuring greater efficiency.
Tom Lippello, Senior Director of Commercial Marketing at Goodyear North America, commented on the company’s mission to provide a tire that addresses the unique requirements of electric vehicles amidst the growing regional EV segment.
The RangeMax RSD EV is the first regional drive tire to feature Goodyear’s “Electric Drive Ready” designation, and it employs Treadlock Technology to ensure even wear and a longer lifespan. The tire is available in size 295/75R22.5 and comes with Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake and Mud and Snow designations for reliable performance in challenging winter conditions.
The RangeMax RSD EV is part of Goodyear’s expanding electric vehicle tire portfolio, which also includes the Endurance RSA ULT commercial truck tire and a line of ElectricDrive tires for passenger and high-performance vehicles. These offerings are part of Goodyear’s Total Mobility solutions, which combine trusted products, a premier service network, and comprehensive tire management solutions.
