BMW Moves To The Series Of Its Sexy Coupe Cars

The BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo is a much talked about car and it is because of this car that the BMW 6-Series will be called 8-Series in few years time. The 6-Series is moving up from its previous 5-Series to the number that denotes BMW’s sexiest coupes despite being virtually similar in size. The big hatchback will be placed in the same market segment and will carry the 6-Series forward for BMW. Its wheelbase will be similar to its predecessors.

Gran Turismo is the first in BMW series to be underpinned by Cluster Architecture Platform followed by the new 7-Series and 5-Series models.

2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo Highlights:

The all new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo is 150 kg lighter than the previous cars because of the extensive use of aluminium and high strength steel content in the body. It has iDrive version 6 along with the wirelessly enabled Apple CarPlay. It has a flowing and sculptural design that gives it modern and sporty look. The new Gran Turismo also has the active aerodynamics behind the wheels, in the front grille and at the rear. The new improved sole 6-Series gran Turismo is 3.8 inches longer and 1.0 inches lower than the current model which makes it pleasing to the eyes. The partition between the rear seat and the trunk that used to consume quite some space is gone as well. It was used to separate the cabin from the open hatchback but it is doing fine even without the partition.

2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo Interior:

Inside of the new Gran Turismo is all high tech and spacious. Upfront is a 10.25 inches of high definition display with the latest iteration of iDrive infotainment system of BMW. The iDrive is combined with a 16 speaker, 1,400 watts Diamond surround sound system by Bowers and Wilkins. The new 6-Series Gran Turismo is also the house of a high definition head-up display along with BMW’s gesture control technology.

2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo Engine:

In the United States, the new 6-Series Gran Turismo will only be available in the form of 640i xDrive all-wheel-drive. Under the hoods of the 640i will be BMW’s turbocharged B58 3.0 litres twin powered six cylinder engine rated at 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The six cylinder engine will be mated to a ubiquitous ZF 8HP eight speed automative transmission that will be sending the power to all four wheels. Translating everything to speed, the 640i xDrive Gran Turismo can hit 60 miles per hours in just 5.1 seconds.

2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo Price :

The doors are generously sized and the ivory white seats look regal. Its cavernous trunk is capable of holding 31 and 65 cubic feet of stuff. The standard GT model is dubbed sport and there is luxury trim and M-Sport package. The 2018 640i xDrive Gran Turismo from BMW will be arriving in the showrooms this fall with the price expecting to be at $70,695 which is $10,950 higher than BMW 540i xDrive sedan and $6500 more than the previous 535i xDrive Gran Turismo. And why not, the new Gran Turismo is a 6-Series, it must surely be worth more.
