General Motors has again stepped in to produce the third generation Chevrolet Equinox. The Chevrolet Equinox had left its mark in the SUV market after its introduction in 2005 with the second generation Equinox being awarded as the second best selling Chevrolet vehicle in 2015. General Motors is now all set to experience the market with the new third Generation Equinox. The new 5 seater Equinox has been awarded “The highest ranked SUV in initial quality in a tie, 2 years in a row” by JD Power.

The new generation Chevrolet Equinox is all set to prevent, protect and respond to any accidental emergencies that arise on the road. There are standard 6 dual stage advanced airbags located throughout the cabin to ensure maximum safety including the driver airbag, passenger airbag, rear airbag, side head airbag, rear head airbag, side airbag and the rear body airbag.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given the third generation Equinox an overall rating of 4 star with 4 star rating in Frontal Crash Test; 5 star rating in Side Crash Test and 4 star rating in Rollover.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has given a Good rating which is the highest, on Moderate Overlap Front Test, Small Overlap Front Test, Side Impact Test, Rear Crash Protection and Roof Strength Test.
2017 Chevrolet Equinox Engine
The new generation Equinox comes with two options for engine, 2.4 litre direct injection inline 4 making 182 HP, which is the most fuel efficient engine in its class and 3.6 litre V6 making 301 HP. Both the engines come with optional 6 speed automatic transmission and front and all wheel drive options. The fuel economy stands between manageable to good giving 20 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on highway.

The new generation Equinox is less than 190 inches in length, has a smaller and lighter body, with 18 inches alloy wheels thus, making it a compact SUV. It houses 5 passengers and has less cargo space which is 63.7 cubic feet when the side bags are flipped down; hence, it shows off a more car-like look than a truck.
