According to www.marklines.com, Nexen Tire Co., Ltd. will supply 19-inch Roadian GTX all-season tires as original equipment for Renault’s Filante, a new hybrid crossover produced by Renault Korea. The Filante blends sedan and SUV characteristics and uses the latest hybrid powertrain, which combines electric motors and internal combustion engines.
Electrified powertrains raise the bar for tires, since quieter cabins make road and tread noise more noticeable and hybrids place different demands on traction and durability. Nexen says the Roadian GTX was developed for SUVs and CUVs with those needs in mind, delivering a balance of handling, longevity, and low noise.
The Roadian GTX features a zigzag tread pattern across a wide contact patch to distribute road pressure more evenly and improve stable handling. Nexen also cites precision load distribution to boost grip, superior wear resistance for longer life, and a low-noise block arrangement optimized for electrified vehicles.
This OE supply covers both the Korean domestic market and Filante models exported to Latin America and the Middle East, widening Nexen’s global reach. The deal follows Nexen’s earlier OE relationship with Renault Korea, which supplied tires for the Grand Koleos midsize SUV launched in 2024.
For Nexen, the Filante agreement reinforces its position in hybrid and all-season tire segments and underscores the importance of original equipment wins for tire makers seeking broader international presence.
