Nexen Supplies ROADIAN GTX to Renault FILANTE

According to www.thenewsmarket.com, NEXEN TIRE announced it is supplying original equipment tires for the Renault FILANTE, a new crossover from Renault Korea that blends sedan and SUV characteristics and uses a hybrid powertrain. The company selected its ROADIAN GTX all-season tire in a 19-inch fitment for the model, citing the elevated technical demands of a vehicle that pairs electric motors with an internal combustion engine.

Hybrid and electrified powertrains change the way tires are asked to perform, and manufacturers often push tire development harder as a result. Instant torque from electric drive and regenerative braking alter load patterns at each wheel, while the quieter cabin of a hybrid makes tire noise more noticeable. That combination raises requirements for grip, wear characteristics, and acoustic refinement.

Nexen describes the ROADIAN GTX as engineered to meet those targets. The tire uses a zigzag tread pattern and a wide contact patch to distribute pressure evenly for stable handling and more uniform wear. A precision load distribution structure helps improve road grip, and a low-noise-optimized block arrangement is specifically aimed at meeting the quietness expectations of electrified vehicles.

The OE supply covers vehicles sold in the Korean domestic market as well as export models bound for Latin America and the Middle East. For NEXEN TIRE, the agreement expands its original equipment footprint and underlines the company’s capability to deliver tire solutions tuned for diverse powertrains, from conventional combustion setups to mixed electric systems.

Renault began deliveries of the FILANTE in March 2026, and the model achieved strong initial market performance in Korea. Fitting the ROADIAN GTX from the factory will help ensure the vehicle’s ride, handling, and acoustic targets are met from day one.
