2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Airbags, Safety Features, Safety Score

The first Porsche Cayman came to life in 2005. The Porsche 718 Cayman is a two door, low – heighted, 2 passenger luxury car. The new version of 2018 is under production and is set to launch soon. The Cayman as a tradition seems identical to the Boxster below the waist.

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Engine

The base engine in the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman would be a 300 hp 2.0 liter turbocharged direct fuel injection 4 cylinder powertrain that produces a torque of 280 pound feet. A 350 hp turbocharged 2.5 liter flat four engine generating 309 pound feet of torque will be available as an option, standard in Cayman S. A six speed manual transmission comes standard and a seven speed automatic transmission will be available as an option. The car will be driven on a rear wheel drive platform. The fuel efficiency would improve for the 2018 model because of the turbocharged engines. The base model is expected to deliver 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission and 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the PDK.

 

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Exteriors

The new generation Cayman will be sporting a slightly wider front end with a freshly designed bumper, wider air intakes, new era bi-xenon headlamps, freshly designed daytime running lights and an all new impressive grille. The tail light too will get a fresh modification with 3D LEDs and four point brake lights integrated with a black strip that boasts ‘Porsche’ written over it. The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman has an overall length of 172.4 inches, width of 70.9 and a height of 51 inches. The car holds a ground clearance of 4.3 inches. The chassis will be retuned with firmer springs, stabilizers and revised shock absorbers. There is an Automatic Engine Stop – Start feature, Electric Power – Assist Speed – Sensing Steering, Variable Intermittent Wipers, LED Brake Lights and Front and Rear Vented Discs. The car will be running over 19 or 20 inch wheels.

 

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Interiors

The interior boasts 2-way Sport seats with electric backrest adjustment and height adjustment. The beautification includes metal – look instrument panel insert, metal – look console insert, aluminium and metal – look interior accent, partial leather seat trim. There would be newly designed A/C vents, an updated instrument cluster and a redesigned steering wheel. The key features would be Remote Keyless Entry, Manual Air conditioning, Day – Night Rear view Mirror and Fade-to-off Interior Lighting. The Infotainment system would comprise of 7.0 inch touch screen with 8 speaker surround system, cell phone connectivity, 2 USB slots, AUX-IN, 2 SD card slots, Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation, Apple CarPlay connectivity, Porsche Car Connect, Hands Free Calling and HD Radio.

 

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Safety Features

The Advanced Airbag System includes Dual stage driver and passenger Seat – Mounted Side airbags, Dual stage driver and passenger Front airbags, Curtain 1st Row airbag and driver and passenger Knee airbags. There is Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Traction Control, Brake Assist, Hill Hold Control, Electric Parking Brake, Front and Rear Parking sensors, Low Tire Pressure Warning, and Pretensioners.

 

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Pricing

The Porsche 718 Cayman 2018 will be priced with a starting price of $53,900. The Cayman S will be priced at more than $66,300. The most expensive variant would be Cayman S with the PDK, at $69,500.
