This is a review of the Wuteku Dashboard Magnetic Phone Mount Kit
Description
The Wuteku Dashboard Magnetic Phone holder uses neodymium magnets to secure your phone in place. At 27mm wide and 31mm high it is a very small piece of car tech. For it size however it is surprisingly a little heavy, this is down to the components used and stainless steel swivel ball used, which I actually like as a design feature allowing you to rotate your phone 270 degrees.
Before applying the Wuteku to the dash or window you will need to make sure it is clean and free of grime, grease and dirt. The phone holder comes with 3M adhesive stickers, one large and one small. There is also the option to purchase further stickers by the manufacturer. Initially I thought this was a good thing there was the option to purchase extras without thinking why this is avaliable. Personally I don’t feel the adhesive is as strong as it could be, after a few goes with my smart phone (CAT S60) it started to pull away. I don’t feel the adhesives provided are strong enough for such a car fixture and to be able to trust it to hold your phone with.
The small ultra thin magnetic discs allow you to either attach to the back of your phone or on the inside of your case providing the case is either thin or magnetic.
Not the most appropriate strength adhesive for its weight, a flatter surface on your dashboard helps with keeping it in place
Conclusion & where to buy
It isn’t the cheapest phone holder on the market but it is small, discreet and fun design is great for the occasional car user. However the heavy set up for it sizes doesn’t quite match the adhesives it comes with, so if you don’t have a flat dashboard, you may struggle keeping it in place, if you do have flattish dashboard, you might just love this little product.
