Titan to Close Jackson, Tennessee Plant in 2026

According to tirebusiness.com, Titan International Inc. (NYSE: TWI) will shut its manufacturing facility in Jackson, Tennessee, by the end of October 2026. The plant closure is part of a broader plan to consolidate production and streamline operations across Titan’s existing sites to improve capacity utilization and service for its customers.

Titan acquired the Jackson facility from the Carlstar Group in 2024. The factory employs approximately 140 workers, who will be affected by the shutdown. Company President Paul Reitz acknowledged the difficulty of the decision and the impact on employees and their families.

To ease the transition, Titan said it will offer severance packages, continue benefits for a period, and provide job placement assistance. The company also said it will work with local officials throughout the wind-down process.

Titan emphasized that the closure will not eliminate its North American manufacturing presence. The company, headquartered in West Chicago, Illinois, will continue to operate its remaining facilities and supply original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers with off-highway wheels, tires, assemblies, and undercarriage products.

Titan serves a range of off-road markets, including agricultural equipment, skid steers, aerial lifts, mining, military, forestry, and construction machinery. The move is consistent with ongoing efforts to optimize manufacturing in the face of competitive pressure from imported tires.

The company organizes its business into agricultural, earthmoving and construction, and consumer segments. Titan employs about 8,200 people worldwide.

The announcement, which was picked up by outlets including StreetInsider and Marketscreener, highlights a wider trend of consolidation in the tire and off-highway manufacturing sectors as companies respond to import competition and shifting demand.
