2018 Ford Fusion Airbags, Safety Features, Safety Score

Ford Fusion is a four door mid – size sedan initially introduced in the year 2006 followed by the second generation being launched in 2012. The third generation Ford Fusion is all set to launch in 2018 with the price range above $33,475. It is expected to showcase generous cabin space, well appointed interiors, well rounded exteriors with fabulous finishing and smooth driving performance.

Ford Fusion 2018 Safety Features

The Safety Technologies includes Advanced Airbags System and Pre – collision Detection System with Pedestrian Warning Alarm. The Advanced Airbag System includes front impact airbags for the front seats to protect the head during a frontal crash, side impact airbags for the front seats to protect the torso during a side impact collision, overhead airbags to protect the passengers’ heads in the event of a side collision or roll over and knee airbags to protect the passengers’ lower extremities during an accident. The Pre – Collision Detection System becomes active when any other car is detected near to the front of the car or any pedestrian for that matter and raises an alarm to warn the driver.  This is paired with Automatic Emergency Braking Assistance which initiates automatic braking if the driver doesn’t respond to the warnings and can even stop the car.  The Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Active Park Assist makes the parking and moving out of parking space much easier by alerting the driver of cars approaching from the sides.  The other features include Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. However, the safety scores are still awaited from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Ford Fusion 2018 Engine

The 2018 fusion will have a base engine of 175 hp 2.5 Liter four cylinder. Further Ford is going to offer two turbo fours – a 181 hp 1.5 Liter and a 245 hp 2.0 Liter. This has been paired with the six speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive. The all wheel drive has been kept optional. However, Fusion Sport will be powered by a 325 hp 2.7 Liter twin – turbo EcoBoost V6 Engine to allow an experience of smooth handling. A hindrance to the 2018 Fusion’s market is its fuel economy which is expected to be the worst in the class.

Ford Fusion 2018 Exteriors

The 2018 Ford Fusion sport has been beautified with gray split – spoke 19 inch wheels, a gloss – black mesh grille, exclusive LED fog lights, quad – tips on the dual – exhaust and a spoiler. However, the best thing about the Ford Fusion 2018 is going to be its drive, which is expected to be the smoothest possible with exhilarating acceleration and low wind noise.

Ford Fusion 2018 Interiors

Ford has used upscale designing and high quality materials in its 2018 Fusion to give the interiors the most serene look. Hence, the interiors are peaceful, comfortable, well built and showered with features. There is an acoustic windshield, active noise cancellation system and under body shielding which makes the ride all the more smooth. The leather seats are well ventilated and allows for a 10 way power adjustability in the driver’s seat and a 6 or 10 way power adjustability in the passenger seats offering good seating accommodations. The front seats are bucket seats which allows for passengers’ individual sliding. The rear seats have ample space with the decent legroom and headroom. Other interesting features include push button start, rear view camera, Ford MyKey, dual – zone automatic climate control, moonroof, voice activated navigation system, rear parking sensors, rain sensing windshield wipers and automatic high beams.
