The Chevrolet Cruze is a small size sedan that has rendered phenomenal comfort and sophistication to its buyers. Chevrolet is again coming up with a new generation Cruze which gets a new hatchback body style for the first time ever along with the sedan. Another inaugural feature in the 2017 Cruze is a new Diesel powered engine for the Cruze Sedan.

2017 Chevrolet Cruze Engine
The Chevrolet Cruze 2017 will be available in a compact Sedan and hatchback bodystyle. The Sedan will be available in L, LS, LT, LT Diesel and Premier trim levels whereas the hatchback will be available in LT and Premier trim levels. The standard engine will be a Turbo charged 1.4 liter 4 cylinder, producing a power of 153 horsepower and torque of 177 pound feet. A six speed manual transmission has been kept standard for the lower trims whereas the higher trims get the six speed automatic transmission as an option. The Premier gets the automatic transmission as standard. It is expected that the Cruze Sedan would deliver a fuel efficiency of 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on highways with the manual transmission and 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on highways with the automatic transmission. An optional engine would be the freshly designed turbocharged 1.6 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine which would deliver a power of 137 hp and torque of 240 pound feet. This would be coupled with 6 speed manual transmission which would deliver a fuel efficiency of 30 mpg in the city and 52 mpg on highways. However, a new 9 speed automatic transmission would be available as option which would effectively assist the car to deliver a fuel efficiency of 31 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on highways.

The Chevrolet Cruze is a 4 door, 5 passenger compact Sedan and Hatchback car that has been redesigned for the year 2017 but the modifications aren’t much and the 2017 model carries similar specifications to its previous year’s model. The new generation Cruze carries an elongated and broad body with a sloping roof line. The 2017 Cruze holds an overall length of 183.7 inches, width of 70.5 inches and a height of 57.4 inches. It will run over 16 inch aluminium wheels. The hatchback has been given a contemporary designing with a sizeable cargo space.

Chevrolet has imparted a similar interior designing to both the Sedan and Hatchback. The hatchback has an additional cargo space of 18.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats which can be expanded to 47.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The 2017 Cruze comes with the complete set of convenience package which includes keyless ignition and entry, heated driver and front passenger seats, driver 8 – way power seat adjuster, remote vehicle starter system and primary foldable key. The seats are extravagantly spacious with efficiently working seat belts and Pretensioners. The overall cabin design allows for a comfortable ride. The standard infotainment system is excellent. It comprises of 7.0 inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay connectivity, Android Auto connectivity, Voice Recognition, AUX, USB Port, Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi connectivity. However, Navigation in available only in the Premier trim.
2017 Chevrolet Cruze Safety Features
The Chevrolet Cruze 2017 has been upgraded with many safety features which have been made standard. These include Stability Control, Four Wheel Anti Lock Disc Brakes, OnStar Safety System and Airbag System. The OnStar safety system would include Automatic Crash Notification, On-Demand Roadside Assistance and Remote Door Unlocking. Other optional driver assistive features include Rear Parking Sensors, Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic High Beam Headlight Control, Forward Collision Warning System and Lane Departure Warning System with Assistance. The 2017 Cruise comes standard with Chevrolet’s Teen Driver Watchdog feature which is a technology that allows you to set certain parameters for secondary drivers such as Teens and Valets.
