Do Not Expect 2019 Chevrolet Blazer To Be Similar To The Old Blazer
There is a new trend in the automobile industry. The automakers are bringing back their old names. In this line, we have Ford, which is going to name its new offerings in 2019 as Ranger and 2010 Bronco. Chevrolet is not far behind, and it will soon be relaunching its Blazer. The name Blazer would be used by the company after almost a decade. This vehicle is expected to fill the gap between the compact Equinox and the midsized Traverse of the company.
The Blazer nameplate will be attached by the company to its front wheel SUV and will be in direct competition with other midsized crossover cars like Nissan’s Murano, Ford Edge, etc. Since the name Blazer would be attached to this new SUV of the company, people are automatically expect the SUV to be a rugged machine with a body on frame, offering reasonable amounts of off road chops.
Twin Models
It is expected that two variants of this SUV will be introduced by the company simultaneously. As per the spy shots that we were able to see of the car, one of the models will have relatively pedestrian bits, while the other model is expected to come with more blingy bits. The pedestrian version of the SUV will have smaller wheels and the exhaust tips would circular. On the other hand, the blingy version of the 2019 Blazer will have angular exhaust tips and wheels that would be flashy.
The Engine
We have not seen or checked the engine personally, however, as per the reports released by the company, the new 2019 Blazer will run on the General Motors’ 2.5 liter engine, this will be a four cylinder engine and will also be powered by a 3.6 liter V6 engine. Blazer will be sharing its platform with the 2017 GMC Acadia, and along with the platform, the SUV will also share the engine with this 2017 model as well. The nine speed automatic transmission is a feature that is present in all the cars of the company, and thus will be present in this SUV as well. This nine speed automatic transmission, clubbed with the two engine versions should help in extracting the most out of the engine’s output.
It is also expected that the fuel economy of the car on the highway would be excellent.
2019 Chevrolet Blazer Exterior and Interior
The Appearance
As far as the looks of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer are concerned, you can expect the styling of this new car to be similar to the styling of Equinox Plus. The difference between the appearances of the two cars would be in minor features like Blazer 2019 would come with a wraparound rear glass and a low front end which resembles that of a car. Overall, the sleek styling of the Blazer will make it appear to be similar to the styling of Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.
Space
The wraparound rear glass might end up eating into a lot space available for cargo. However, other than this, one can expect the new car to offer you a spacious cabin, which would be absolutely comfortable for four to five passengers.
Some of the most prominent expectations of the customers from this new car are as follows:
- The overall dimensions of the car would be similar to 2017 GMC Acadia, which means the length of the car would be around 194 inches.
- Latest designing would be used for the exterior of the car to give it a more rugged and attractive look.
- While the designing of the interiors of the car should be revamped as well, the seating capacity would remain the same.
- The C1XX architecture used in the car will give it a light curb weight. In fact it would be lighter than any other car in its class.
- The car would be fitted with latest technology like MyLink Infotainment, GM active safety assistance systems, etc.
2019 Chevrolet Blazer Launch Date and Price
The company has made any official announcement about when it plans on launching this car into the market. As per the market rumors, this car can be expected to hit the markets either in late 2018 or early 2019. As far as the price of the same is concerned, there is again no clarity or any sort of indication that has been given by the company, and therefore, making any sort of speculation in this regard, at this point of time, would be a little difficult for us. However, it is expected that this car would be a lower cost version, and should be priced somewhere around $27000 roughly.
