Ford would be launching the 2018 Transit as a full – size van with a wide range of options and configurations. It would be possible to personalize it as a van, a passenger wagon, cutaway or a chassis cab body configuration. With a starting price of $32,285, the 2018 Ford Transit would face competition from Ram ProMaster, Mercedes Benz Sprinter, Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana. However, the utility aspect of the 2018 Transit would stand strong for this upcoming vehicle.

2018 Ford Transit Engine

The 2018 Ford Transit will be available in two trim levels in the passenger body configuration: XL and XLT. It may be configured with a passenger or cargo body. The 2018 Ford Transit would offer three engine options. The base model would be powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine producing an outcome of 275 horsepower and a torque of 260 pound feet. A 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 engine generating an outcome of 310 hp and a torque of 400 pound feet would be available as an option. A 3.2 liter turbo diesel V6 engine would also be offered for the 2018 model year that would be capable of producing an outcome of 185 horsepower and a torque of 350 pound feet. This would increase the towing capability the vehicle. These would be coupled with a 6 speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive platform. The 2018 Ford Transit will not offer an all wheel drive platform. The base engine is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of 14 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highways and 16 mpg combined.

The 2018 Transit would offer a single body construction which will be stronger and more efficient in every way. The 2018 Ford Transit would offer heavy duty cargo flooring, heavy duty rear scuff plate kits, rear door scuff plate kit, power folding short arm heated mirrors with turn signals and push down parking brake on some variants. The different body styling would stand unique for the Transit making a vehicle a class apart.

The cabin is spacious and comfortable in every way. The front seats possess an armrest on most variants. They are well cushioned and have accommodative designing. The XLT trim level also offers charcoal colored leather seats. The windows have a lowered level which makes the visibility better. The cargo space is up to 487 cubic feet with large doors which would be the best in its class. The all passenger body can seat up to 15 persons with more than 100 cubic feet of cargo space behind the last row of seats. The passenger body configurations include standard and long wheel base versions. The infotainment screen would be 6.5 inch wide diagonally with Bluetooth connectivity, Radio, CD player, USB ports and Navigation. SYNC 3 would be available as an option.

The 2018 Ford Transit incorporates Advanced Airbags System with many driver assistive features. The advanced airbag system would comprise of front airbags for protecting the front passenger and the driver during an impact from the front collision, seat mounted side airbags for protection against side impact collisions, side curtain airbags for protecting side seated passengers and overhead airbags for protection during a rollover.

The driver assistive features include stability control, anti lock brakes, a rear view camera, lane departure warning system, reverse sensing system, AdvancTrac system with roll stability control and tire pressure monitoring system. The high mounted rear view camera would be a new feature to be offered in 2018 Ford Transit. This would be seen in medium and high roof models of 2018 Transit.
