The Japanese automaker Toyota has brought active safety features into the latest version of Corolla which is believed to seep in through the Toyota Prius. The U.S. News and World Report has given a Safety Score of 8.0 out of 10 to the 2017 Toyota Corolla.

The Toyota Corolla sports a set of advanced safety features coined Toyota Safety Sense P which includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning Assist System, and Automatic High Beam Headlights which detects the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of vehicles in front to automatically switch between high and low beams. Pre – collision system with pedestrian detection warns the driver either audibly or visually when a frontal collision is suspected and automatically activates the emergency braking assistance system. The Pedestrian detection system alerts the driver of collision with a probable pedestrian. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control detects the distance of the vehicle in front and under certain conditions, will adjust the speed of the car accordingly. Lane Departure System with Steering Assist warns the driver on change of lane when another vehicle is already present or is approaching rapidly and automatically provides assistance in steering control. Whiplash – Injury – Lessening (WIL) front seats, 3 – point Lap and Shoulder belts, Anchor points for Child Restraint Seats, Child Protector Rear Door Locks have added to the safety of the car. • Smart Stop Technology which is designed to assist with braking when the driver unintentionally accelerates the car. This gets activated when the brake and accelerator pedals get pressed together bringing the car to a smooth halt.
• Vehicle Stability Control which prevents the wheels from slipping sideways when cornering or sudden steering.
• Anti-lock Brake System which prevents the brakes from getting locked.
• Traction Control that prevents slippage of wheels when the car is starting or acceleration on wet or slippery roads.
• Electronic Brakeforce Distribution automatically varies the amount force applied to each of the wheels, based on road conditions, speed, loading etc.
• Brake Assist that supports unexpected braking in case of emergency

The 2017 Corolla is 183 inches long which makes it highly spacious within its segment; however it is pretty conservative in its exterior looks.
