The 2018 Toyota Avalon is a full size Sedan very similar to its 2017 model. It is a 4 door 5 passenger vehicle with flashy designing, extravagantly contemporary interiors and flabbergasting briskness.

2018 Toyota Avalon Engine

The 2018 model of Avalon comes powered with a 268 hp 3.5 liter regular unleaded V6 engine with 248 pound feet of torque. This has been coupled with 6 speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive. The fuel efficiency speculated is 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on highways. There is also an available hybrid version which comes powered with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine along with an electric motor. It produces a power of 200 hp with continuous variable transmission (CVT). The fuel efficiency depicted is 40 mpg combined. The 2018 Avalon will be available in Sports, Eco and Normal modes.

The new generation Avalon will be driven on 17 inches aluminium 10 spokes silver painted alloy wheels. The spare wheel is going to be a 17 inch steel wheel. The massive body of the Avalon has an overall length of 195.3 inches, width of 72.2 inches and height of 57.5 inches. The bumpers are body colored with the Chrome grill on the front which is impressively wide like a widely open jaw. There are LED brake lights and Halogen Daytime Running Automatic Headlamps which give perfect illumination.

The interiors of the 2018 Avalon have been contemporarily designed with maximum leather coatings as standard. There is wood or metal look instrument panel, chrome and metal look accents and leatherette upholstery. Furthermore, the gear shift knob is also either leatherette or chrome. The seats are well cushioned and accommodating with heated front bucket seats which has the memory settings for the driver seat. The steering wheel is leather engulfed, which adds additional beauty to the entire look.  There is keyless entry/exit, engine immobilizer and intermittent wipers as well. The infotainment system includes 7 inches high definition touchscreen display with FM, CD player, 9 speakers, AUX, USB port, iPod connectivity, advanced voice recognition, hands – free phone capability, music streaming, integrated backup camera and navigation.

2018 Toyota Avalon Safety Features

The 2018 Avalon has upgraded safety features which are usually present in all modern time vehicles of the same class. There is Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Tire Pressure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Rear Child Safety Locks. Along with the above-mentioned safety and driver assistive features, there is also Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Braking and Automatic High Beams. Most of these features have been made standard in the 2018 Avalon, however few can be added as an option or will be available in higher trim levels.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given an overall ‘5 star’ rating to the 2018 Avalon with ‘4 stars’ in Overall Front Barrier Crash Rating, ‘5 stars’ in Overall Side Crash Rating and ‘4 stars’ in Rollover Rating.
