The American multinational automaker Ford is coming up with the third generation of Ford Edge in the year 2018 or 2019 that will offer a unique style statement with prodigious designing and incredible performance. The second generation Ford Edge came to the market as a 2015 model with upgraded powertrains and fresh designing. The 2018 Ford Edge is a mid size crossover that will be on the roads with a starting price of $29,220.

2018 Ford Edge Engine

Under the hood, comes a turbocharged, direct injection, twin scroll 2.0 liter inline four EcoBoost engine. The speculated fuel efficiency is 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on highways with the front wheel drive. However, with the all wheel drive it is 17 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highways. The optional engine is a sport complied 2.7 liter EcoBoost engine. Both the engines come paired with front wheel drive and the all wheel drive system comes optional. The fuel efficiency expected is 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highways. The 2018 Ford Edge will be available in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium and Sport. The Ford Edge Sport boasts a 315 hp 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 engine producing 350 pound feet of torque. The all wheel drive system is standard.

2018 Ford Edge Exteriors

The Ford Edge 2018 will be sporting dark headlamps, a sleek front grille, a rear spoiler and 19 inch magnetic – painted wheels. The Sports model swaggers a darkened look with gray colored 19 inch aluminium wheels, skid plates, grille surround and exterior mirror caps. There are more darkened areas like window molding, seat cloth surfacing and headlamps surround. The Titanium model brags a new 20 inch wheel design.

The interiors are enormously spacious with features that come handy because of their appropriate placement and easy functioning. The seats are extremely accommodating, fitted with high quality materials and premium designing. The cargo space is abundant. The noise from the engine or the wind noise is all minimal, keeping the cabin quiet and serene. Additional technological features include a rear view camera, Enhanced Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning System, Automatic High Beams Headlamps, Rain – sensing Windshield Wipers, Blind Spot Monitoring System with Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Keeping System with Brake Assist.
